Today is the day...New York Fashion Week

Today is the day...

that New York Fashion week begins for Spring 2009. The Spring shows are done in September and the Fall shows in February. Seems backwards... it is not if you consider that Fashion is shown a year ahead of the time it reaches Mrs. and Mr. American shopper.

Bryant Park, a lovely oasis in Midtown is anchored on one end by the New York Library on Fifth Avenue. The historic building, flanked by two lions on the either side of the staircase is famous in its own right, with appearances in fashion iconic movies like
Breakfast at Tiffany's and the summer's blockbuster Sex in the City.

The tents are up, the models are prepped, the featured designers on edge, the clothes steamed and the photographers are jockeying for strategic positions to capture the best shots.

The writers well, we are poised and ready to bring you the latest.

Let the stilettos march.

it's all about the forcasting...but after being in the fashion industry for years it still seems backwards to me
